The front side of this locket features an oval of black enamel, holding an intricately detailed and shaded laurel wreath in grey and white, symbolizing eternity and eternal life over death. The reverse of the locket is covered in fine hand engraving, featuring a four-pointed star entwined with a knot, and a small space at the center meant to hold an initial. Inside, there is space for two photos or small mementos.
Some surface scratching to the enamel, but no enamel loss, and one small dent near the bottom of the front side. Overall excellent antique condition.
34mm total hanging length, 20.5mm wide, and 8mm thick. Photo size is 22 by 18mm, and bail opening is 5mm.
