An early 20th century necklace featuring a spider in pursuit of a fly. As one pendant, the fly is at the top, its body made up of a round amethyst and a grey pearl, both in milligrained bezels. Its wings are accurately fly-wing texture and well detailed, and while it hasn't lost any pieces, it only has four legs. Dangling below on a long, flat bar, the spider is catching up to its meal. With a larger, oval amethyst and lighter grey pearl for its body, both in milligrained bezels just like the fly, it has all eight legs and formidable pincers. The pendant comes on a cable chain with spring ring clasp.
A couple of the chain's links have a deep patina where they've been repaired, hardly noticeable. Overall excellent condition.
Chain is 16.5 inches long and 1.25mm wide with a 4mm end loop. Pendant total length is 46mm. Amethysts are 3.5mm and 6 by 4.5mm, and pearls are 2mm.
