The tiniest protective charm. Saint Christopher is best known as the patron saint of travelers, but is said to cover an array from gardeners to epilepsy to toothache. This little token has the classic image of St. Christopher fording a river while carrying the boy who will reveal himself as Jesus (halo and all), all in stunning detail, down to the ripples of the water and the mountains and castle in the distance. On the reverse, Pope Paulus VI sits in profile, a perfect likeness including all the texture of his hair and his beautifully detailed robes. This side bears the words "Paulus VI Pont. Max." This token may have been a Vatican souvenir during Paulus's rule, from 1963-1978. It has a satiny, matte finish, perfect with the high karat gold.
