Victorian era drama in the very best way. Concave ovals of onyx hold clusters of bezel set seed pearls in a formation somewhere between a flower and a cross, punctuated with tiny balls of granulation. They're wrapped in wire and fitted with newer posts and butterfly backs. Everything but the posts and backs are all hand fabricated, but one earring is made slightly differently from the other. A true sign of the times it was made in, different jewelers could be working on multiples of the same item, but each might go about construction slightly differently. The result here is one pearl cluster having finer bezels than the other.
Some dark patina at the joins, and one pearl cluster may occasionally turn out of alignment, but is perfectly secure.
28mm total hanging length. Onyx is 20 by 14mm, pearls are 1-2mm.
