Outfitted with newer hooked ear wires, the drops on these earrings are early Victorian. Big, fat, vivid amethysts are bezel set and surrounded by twisted wire, tiny seed pearls strung together, intricate filigree, and a border of milgrain. The amethysts are typical of those found in the Ural mountains of Russia and have incredible clarity and color that seems to shift from purple to pink. They total 4.55 ctw.
One ear wire is slightly more oblong than the other. Overall beautiful condition.
33mm long, 15.75mm wide. Amethysts are about 9mm and pearls are 1mm.
